12 students started

praying for campus.

ORMSBY AVE

Our journey began in 2019, when 12 students decided to start praying for UofL. We didn't really have a place to meet on campus, so we gathered in a house in Old Louisville a few blocks away. We met every Tuesday for prayer and acoustic worship. Pretty soon there were more than 60 students hanging out in a living room together.

Floyd Theater

After praying about a opportunity to start meeting on campus, we gathered for the first time in Floyd Theater in the SAC. We had students share their stories of life change. But after only a few weeks, quarantine shut everything down. We knew God still wanted to do something on campus, so we kept praying.

TOPP'T

While we were still searching for a place to gather, a member of our board connected us with the owner of Top's Pizza Kitchen. He donated part of the storefront space in Cardinaltowne so we could continue worshipping together!

The avenue

After worshipping in the former pizza kitchen for an entire year, we began to outgrow the space. The Avenue Room was envisioned by the original owner of Cardinal Towne to be a gathering space for Christian community. Through prayer it became available to Ignite and we've been worshipping there ever since.
